This year has come to and end and I couldn’t be more excited and sad at the same time. My year in HTV has been a blast I have done so much being in this program the past year to make the end of my high school career amazing. I am going to miss coach Davis so much he has taught me a lot in the past two years. He is more than a teacher to most of us he is a insperation to us all, I know cheese fest, but oh well. He has done so much for us this year taking us to California for the STN Convention, and going to Hawaii for spring break, I don’t know how he does it, I would never want to take a group of teens anywhere when I am that old. He has gone out on a limb for us all, and I don’t think he gets the recognition that he deserves he always thinks about his students before himself, he always pushes us to do our best. Without him I think half of us would be lost, I know I would be. Being in my senior year I just kind of gave up on school but he was the only teacher that ever told me that I need to buckle down and go to my classes and push me to do my best not only in HTV but all my other classes.
The best memory that I have of Coach is during the 14th hour of the Buzz-A-Thon, he was so tired he didn’t know what he was saying and was rambling about God knows what and all we could do was laugh at him because he was making no sense, but all I know it that “Justin Barnett would be an amazing Irish Tenor and make all the moms cry.”
As the year comes to and end and I only have a week left of school I just want to say, Thank You Coach, for everything you have done for us. I am going to miss being apart HTV , I have learned so much from you and everybody in there. Even if I don’t show it I will miss everyone who has been apart of HTV this year.
Good luck guys, and once again thank you so much for everything you have done for us Coach.
Ode to Coach

Spring Break ‘08
Spring Break this year was amazing HTV went to Hawaii and everyone had a good time. I think it was one of the best experinces of my life, on this trip I yet again roomed with Curtis and Charles. Well the first two nights we got to stay on the beach with our friends from Hawaii, which are the coolest people I know, they are awesome. I love each and every one of them. But Back to Hawaii, We got to go Whale and Dolphin watching the first full day were there, we got to see a bunch of Dolphins and one huge whale and a calf. And then after that we went to the beach and played for hours, every one got a sexy tan. We had a BBQ type thing there with the most amazing Chicken. The next day we went had a real luau, they had a whole bunch of native food which were okay for the most part. Then we headed down to Waikiki Beach!!!!!
The first night we were there Curt and I Frosting Blocking the Jr. Girls. There was this Drunk guy who was harrasing the girls and they thought it was the funninest thing but he was drunk and ended up punching a man and got arrested. The beach there did suck but we mad the best of it. A group of us went Snorkiling at Hunnama Bay wich words cannot describe. Hawaii was fun I want to go back soon like now.

HTV Gone Wild………….
In less than two weeks the staff of HTV will be going on a wonderful trip to Hawaii. I can not wait, I am expecting a lot of things out of this trip, and I hope all goes well and we all have a blast.
The things a I am expecting are getting dark, my room mates Curtis and Charles, America’s Funniest Home Videos with Rachel, Aleshia, and Kendra, and getting to spend “alone” time with Erin Freeman (although I doubt that will happen).
When I go to Hawaii, where the sun beats down us, from 30 degree weather to 80 degrees, I plan on getting as dark as possible. While everyone on staff bring sunscreen, b/c they are whiter than paper, I will be getting as much sun tan lotion possible. I will come back black……..
Once again I will be rooming with Curtis and Charles, and I couldn’t ask for more. They are probably the funniest people I know. Except I don’t want to share a bed with either of then, so they are going to share a bed, but they don’t know it yet. I am going to sleep naked, I mean we are in Hawaii, why not? I am sure it will be a fight to the death to get a bed alone but I will win with my ninja skills.
And as for AFV goes we watched them on the last night of California and we laughed all night long and I almost peed my self and I am looking forward to it again.
Erin Freeman and I hung out a lot in California I called it our “Alone” time and it was great. The trip to Huntington Beach was great. We took picture and walk all around. I am looking forward to this time again, but I think I am not going to get to have it, see Jordan is going this time and she will be with him the whole time and forget about everyone self in her life!!!!!!! But that is okay I have Aleshia and our time will be better, but you never know we all might hangout at some point but I doubt it.
So I hope you guys have a great Spring Break I know I will.
Another thing that I am looking forward to is running off with my Fran, searching for Waterfalls, I hope we find lots of Waterfalls. I am sure we will find them at least three times a day, if we are lucky.
I love Waterfalls

Anahiem in a new perspective.
We just got back from Cali. We won. It was a blast, but I did have some very interesting moments while I was gone. Pooping Naked, Spooning with Charles, getting into a little “fuss” with another school in the elevator, oh and there was also playing match maker for a lovely girl from HTV with the enemy. Let me explain.
1. Pooping Naked. For all of you who think that little miss Kendra Mcdosenothingwrongpants Weatherford, is so sweet I have things to tell you she is not. She can get very mean and ugly at times, (not the ugly that it is hard to look at her face but the ugly that she will give you the stink eye.) Well poor little Rob was just asking Kendra a simple little question during the sweet 16 and Kendra turned into a man eating she-bear, I felt bad for him. But they had a competition the next day and Kendra very rudely told him “If you are even a minute late I will eat you!” So he was scared the whole night, but here is where the fun begins. Around 1:45 I guess he was sleeping and Charles and Curtis come in the room and say HI to Rob, and he freaks out thinking he is late to his competition due to Kendra, so here is what went down.
Poor little Rob was so scared you could see the fear in his eyes. You would have thought that the Apocalypse was happening. He jumped out of bed and in a panic sweat dripping down his face, a face of shock. He was in a state of panic and shock, pacing all around the room going into the bathroom and “fiddling” with the door knob jerking the poor little knob. (Here is the set up, we had a bathroom with a shower and a sink. Then to your right there was a door, and behind that door was a little room with a toilet in there.) The panic struck Rob, I guess, goes in there and takes of his pants. Curtis being the concerned little friends that he was crying out to Rob. “Rob little Rob are you okay, do you need me to come in there and help you?” Rob is in the bathroom all alone and scared. All Curtis can say is “Rob, are you okay, are you pooping naked?”
So the next morning we had to get to the bottom of the story, it turned out that Kendra yelled at him and scared him, that he ended up sleep walking.
2. Spooning. We all had to sleep in rooms of four, I roomed with the with the Amazing Curtis, The Darning Rob, and Charles. We had to share bed which if fine nobody really had a problem with that. We are all friends here. Well the last night at our wonderful stay in the Disney Land Hotel, Charles decides to stay out all hours of the night, only God knows what he was doing. I go to bed a reasonable time because I have to pack the next morning, well Charles comes back to the room finally at like two in the morning, and decides it would be fun to be “all up in my grill.” I don’t know what he was thinking but before I knew it he was trying to get “fresh” with me, “Charles, you need to get off me.” I mean what do you say or even do to that?! Well I will tell you what I did. I punched him in the face.
3. One of my most memorable moment of the Convention was a little elevator ride I shared with a “enemy” school. Aleshia, Curtris and I were riding in the elevator to our room to get something for Curtis’s commentary. There were two young men in the elevator with us, and they seemed nice enough
but they were not! We introduced our selfs from HTV, Hillcrest High School Springfield MO. This is how they responded, “Oh, well then you must be our enemy.” I was in shock, Why is that I asked? “Because we are better than you.” Now this really upset me, and I am not the one to let things do so easily, so I kinda told them off, and bragged on all the award we have won and the ones they haven’t. It was wrong of me and I realize I should not have done it. So to that school I am sorry.
4. Match Maker. My dearly beloved friend, one of the most interesting, beautiful, smart, and talented friend Lillian, had a “secret lover”, when I say secret lover I mean love interest. It is the same thing. But a guy named Alex from Lee’s Summit West came up to me and ask me if he could interview one of our News Directors, either Rachel or Lillian. My first option was to call Rachel but I called the wrong number so I called Lillian. Well that was my first mistake to call her. I swear it was love at first sight with these two. Alex and Lillian ahhh, I am a common day Cupid. But he ended up doing a story on her, nobody though anything of it untill we were shooting the music video we notice that they were texting! I mean who moves that fast they met like 45 min ago, and they were already texting! I mean come on Lillian, but it was, shall I dare say, “cute?” he wanted to meet her at the STN Dance if she went, it would have been officially their first date, but she stood him up. Well the Convention has ended and he ended up getting a honorable mention on his story about Lilian good job Alex, and they are still talking.

New Rule
There’s nothing more annoying than walking through a crowded hallway, trying to beat the tardy sweep, and coming to a halt behind a group of freshmen who decided to stop for a casual chat right in the middle of the hall. So you push through them and continue on your way while getting dirty looks and maybe on occasion, a threat of “violence.”
It happened yet again this morning. A group of freshmen girls were talking about their meaningless social lives and there was no other way around them. So I pushed my way through and overheard a girl say, “Like…why do they always have to come through here?”
And I had to fight the urge to stop and say, “Because you’re in everybody’s way…He doesn’t like you, there, your conversation is over and you can move out of everybody’s way.”
I’m thinking that a good solution to this little problem would be that the seniors have the right of way. So if a senior is hurrying to their next class and come upon a group of freshmen gathered in the hallway the way cattle would gather around the last blade of grass in a dry field, all they would have to do is say, “Senior, coming through, out of my way…”
We’ve earned it, right? We’ve had to walk through the halls for 4 years, and we deserve the right of way. The freshmen can wait their turns…
Um..senior, coming through, OUT OF MY WAY.

Beneath the surface?
Lets go beneath the surface of HTV…..
When you mention HTV most people think of Static for some reason. Well we are not static or close to it at all, we are more if an indepth news team, not that there is anything wrong with static or that we are better than static just don’t get us confused. The Process of creating an HTV show can be very time consuming, complicated, stressfull, and fun all at the same time. We just had our first dealine two wednesdays ago and it got alittle tense in the room.
We normally partner up in the basic reporter/photographer groups, then the next step, I would say is the hardest part of it all, is getting a atory idea. Sometimes you get lucky and have stories that work on the first try, but other ones fail one right after another. We have about three weeks to put a show togther which is a good amount of time, unless you put it off till the last minute like everyone does.
By the time we start to log/capture, and editing that is when the stress really gets going. Editing a story brings out the worst in people, you’ll start to fight with friends you don’t think you will ever fight with, youu’ll just want to rip otu there hiar. Between fighting and Coach yelling at you tell you your story sucks is a lot to deal with I have seen grown men cry in here, but that is a story for another day.
HTV isn’t that bad I mean we are hard workers and Coach only yells casue he wants us to do our best. I mean that is what we do in HTV is yell and criticize other people work, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

My first real post…….well rant.
okay, now I am ready to blog my little heart away.
Coach gave us topics to write about for our fist blog, so I am going to write about my dream story, we have no limits with our answers.
If I could do one story in the whole wide world it would would be, taking my dear friends Kendra E. back in time to that horible horible day when Britney Spears had her first break. just so I can beat her down and say “Baby do you really want me to hit you one more time?” No not really I joke about that, about hitting her. She need to be tought a lesson who perades around the school halls wearing practaly nothing? I mean she was like 18 at the time, where was her dad, saying “yup that is my daughter right there, half naked in front of that camera, I am so proud of her.”
But that is the Britney we all grew to love, see I don’t mind her 5 years ago, but now her is where I want my story to begin. I would go back in time tho that horrible month of July 2004, the month she married that, well idiot of a man K-fed. Now I am glad she had two kids but come one I do feel bad for them, a pyshco mother who’s career is going down the toilet and a father who has many unseccesful carees such as rapping, dancing, wrestling, model, and actor. He basically fails at everything, so why not just be good at failing, K-fed?
That is my dream story to get into their heads, see what is really going on upstairs. Of course it would be a chatroom a very very very long chartroom. It might seem dumb to you, but ask me if I care because I don’t. Coach will love it and I will make him love it and if he doesn’t, well he just doesn’t know good broadcast journalism when it is right in front of him (just kidding Coach)
